Hienz-Galinski Schule (Jewish School Berlin)
Zvi Hecker

Jewish Center for Holocaust Memorial

The Jewish center is located adjacent to the existing Holocaust memorial in Berlin. The DNA I extracted from Zvi Hecker's Jewish School is form and intersection. He is well known for the strength in the forms of his buildings which is what I applied to the Jewish center.
First extending the grids of the existing memorial overlaying the free space on the site and experiment on how the forms can be created. In the memorial includes an existing underground museum which is where i started the proposal design. Following the extended grids; I've connected the underground museum to my new building. Later on, following the methodology of Zvi Hecker, I intersect the extended grids with the site grids (roads and buildings in the site area) which then became petal shaped structures to emphasize the transaction of the structure and form of the Jewish school.
I put emphasis on the synagouge, which is on the second floor of the building. This room will be facing the memorial which gives it a powerful view. Also includes elevated seats to provide viewing sight for the people attending.
