'Fraternal Twins'

Fraternal twins are the same but also different. It’s this concept of dissonance applied to studio multiples.

Fraternal Twins

In this phase, The design aims about to clarify to Language of the case study and transformation into the new site building.





Massing Model
In this process, Students need to produce at least three massing model at three different registrations which contain the likeness to case study project:
    • Low zygosity massing (A)
    • Medium zygosity massing (B)
    • High zygosity massing (C)


      Zygosity
      Refers to the degree of identicalness between twins. 
      Another word that might be relevant is spooky. 
      As in when identical twins really are so identical that it’s creepy. 
      They would be having a high zygosity.

In this process, I bring the identity of Fagnano Ilona Elementary School
in term of Purity of form, the Heirachy of compositioning, referencing and the city plan applied.





After that, I decide more about in term of building of the new site case study. Firstly I use the site which located in the Fagnano but different context referencing from Rossi's.

According to PostModern era, Most of the building got referencing from the previous architect and context. Rossi's work is the one of this style. IN his work at Fagnano, he decided to built the school near by the Industrial Estate an d bring the sense of industrialization into his work. From that idea, I choose the location which nearby the international park on the upper side which have the strong characteristic in term of context and landscape.

The building program is aims about the community learning. Which I scope over scale from Rossi did. I'm not clarified the program as only institution place, But look more about how to bring the community together as same Rossi did in side his school. So the program in side my building will contain in term of Museum-Gallery and Shed- local workshop.








        From Rossi design, I bring the identity of form and applied the concrete as the main material but in different color to perform different function. For the facade I got the idea of massing and brutalism style. I used the oversized square shape to be the window,but in museum side which use less of light I designed to full filled the block and made it as a fake window cement block.

      All the building linked to gather with the linked(entrance) building which only one building which the ground attracted the same floor level as same as cityscape. The Back of this building contain a lots of window to show the perfect landscape of national park location.

From the linked building, in right hand side is the Museum and gallery which in it own self and entrance building which one continuous long ramp. In the ramp also perform function as same as the gallery wall. The opposite side of Museum is Shed and work shop. Contain the function of Lecturing, workshop and green house space. All of this more about study and learning and Museum side is more about the monumental and valuable the information inside like Rossi did.He balanced the yard and library to show the balanced of learning and studying. And for my building is not about linked its own self function, but more about linked the city community with the natural monument.
