PROJECT 1.2
PLAY GIFTS & MANIPULATIVES
TWO AT A TIME
In this phase we assigned to design an open ended toy which is related to the concept of the case study of architecture and institute ideas of education. Two at a time is the toy that pick two concept of 'John W. Chorley elementary school', elementary project from Paul Rudolph, those two concept is continuous progress and invisible boundaries. The toy basically work on system of sequence and boundaries but transform into the scale of toy instead of building.
In term of design and concept, this game or toy is about, as a name 'two at a time' player have to keep own's ball on the board while trying to get rid of the others to control the board player have a handle, flexible, as a rope the concept is convert from the building as an passing over invisible boundaries to passing over the difference levels and final to fall of the board.
Beneath the board has rail to place the rope, being a handle to control a board.
Sequence of plates from the concept of continuous progress in term of design in the sequence of the varieties of the floor level in organic form from the base plate which is flat to the middle one that has a little bit different floor level to the last that clearly as a slope plate.
In the manual plates to describe the surface slope and piece in the way of graphic, clarity of sequence and pieces of the toy.
In term of toy and production, the material is lime provide the weight, both handle and rope is to bend to force to control the board. The weight of the material is to prevent from board flipped, if the material has a light weight the force when play will to much and the board will fall.
