2D Blocks
Play Gifts & Manipulatives
Phase 2
Architectural language and spatial aspects of the Middle School in Morbio Inferiore from Phase 1 were the main elements that contributed to the making of the puzzle. Prominent characteristics of the building such as symmetry, hierarchy, light, transparency, modular structure, and stacking of elements were the main ideas that shaped the puzzle.
Rectangular pieces are given the illusion of 3D due to tricolor surface treatment. Three shades resemble the shadowing effects of true rectangular prisms. With these paper bricks, the idea is not to connect them together by touching their edges, but rather to overlap them. This provides the visual impression of stacked components.
