AS EPFL IS A LARGE CAMPUS AND EACH BUILDING ARE FAR APART SO THE CONCEPT OF "UNDER ONE ROOF" IS TO CREATE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE CAMPUS, IN THE NORTH; AND STUDENT RESIDENTS, IN THE SOUTH. MOREOVER, "UNDER ONE ROOF" ALSO CONNECT THREE SEPARATE BUILDINGS TOGETHER BY COVER IT WITH 1 WHOLE ROOF, WHICH Makes THE BUILDING BECOME THE COMMONS AND PUBLIC PERMEABILITY FOR STUDENTS.

PLATE MATRIX

"WHOLE"

FOR THE FIRST PLATE, IT SHOWS THE BIG PICTURE OF "UNDER ONE ROOF". AS YOU CAN SEE THAT THREE RED DOTS REPRESENT MOST VISIT DESTINATION WHERE MOST STUDENTS WALK PASS THROUGH OUT THE DAY. THE BUILDING CREATE CONNECTION AND PUBLIC SPACE, WHICH YOU CAN SEE THROUGH THE DENSITY OF THE DASH LINE THAT STUDENTS USE THIS BUILDING AS THE BRIDGE FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER.

"PART"

FOR THE SECOND PLATE, A LITTLE BIT MORE ZOOM INTO THE DETAILS, IT CAN BRIEFLY CATEGORISE INTO FOUR MAIN INFORMATION THAT CAN BE REPRESENTED.

FIRST: THE IMAGE THAT SHOWS THE ACTUAL PICTURE OF UNDER ONE ROOF.
SECOND: THE STRUCTURE OF THE ROOF AND EACH DIFFERENT PILLARS.
THIRD: PLAN
FOUTH: THE SECTION CUT

ADDITIONAL PLATE

"DETAIL"

IN "DETAIL" IS TO SHOWS THE DEEPER PART OF EACH STRUCTURE. AS KENGO KUMA HAVE REPUTATION IN USES OF NATURAL MATERIAL SO IT CAN'T BE DENY THAT ALL OF THE MATERIALS THAT USE FOR "UNDER ONE ROOF" IS FROM LOCAL AREA. FURTHERMORE, IN THE PLATE ALSO PULL OUT THE CONSTRUCTION TO ZOOM IN "DETAIL".
