In this phase we have to analyse the language of our case study
. the language in term of what the building want to say
, what is its main idea and the function too. After that we have
to find the building from the same architect and from other architect too.
I got the Laurentian library designed by Michelangelo which is built in
late-renaissance, so I want to say about how to get knowledge first because
the education in that time is really different from today.
In the middle age, it was really hard to get knowledge because
the books are too expensive and hardly to craft a book. Then in renaissance
Jahannes Gutenberg invented printing press which led a lot of people
have accessible to the knowledge and that is why people in that time are
really eager in order to spread the knowledge , Michelangelo is one of that
respectful artist.
He designed the building which attached to church because the pope
in that time is the center who want to spread knowledge. the library was
separated into two part the reading room and vestibule.
the vestibule is the room which using to just keep
the stone stair. He designed the vestibule very dark
so that he could show the idea of ordering and the way
to the delight which is the reading room
that is a lot lighter. And this room also have a outside-in looking
the is a pillar inside the wall and having a facade all of the side.
The stair in this room is really amazing because
he designed in a shape of nature-liked. I mean the
shaped of lava flowing with the idea of the way
to the knowledge. He want to say the " do you want
to go through the hard way to be better or just sit in this room
