DNA : Open-Air School in Suresnes
Architect : Eugene Beaudoin and Marcel Lod
The TOY related to the building that I got.
The base idea of Suresnes open air school is to improve public health of sick children.
The school is surrounded by greenery, so learning or working should take place at the outside to get fresh air.
For the classroom, the WINDOW placed high to protect children from being distracted from the teacher.
It can fold to open the classroom, so fresh air come in and have a good ventilation.
From the research, most facades of open air school will be window that can open in different ways
such as casement window, awning window and accordion window.
MANUAL
MODEL
This is a conceptual toy that related to the windows of open air schools.
It represent the six different way to open the facades. For example, turn, sway, stretch and shrink and slide
It can't open every side at the same time because some of facades will be struck by the other beside them.
About the structures: Some of them use the same technique but can represent in a different way.
Example : Use technique of punch and hang to sway the window.
: Create a rail to open window by slide or shrink.
So, the logic of this toy can understand by itself.
