PROJECT 1 - PHASE 2 SASINA NAKMONTANAKUM (KAT) AJ. CARMEN TORRES
From the previous phase that studies about ‘Goetheanum’ by
Rudolf Steiner. It has a lot of background knowledge behind the building.
Anthroposophy, Eurhythmy Dance, and Waldorf’s Pedagogy are the references of
this phase.
Manual
‘Imaginature’ is the combination word of imagination, miniature, and nature.
Waldorf’s Pedagogy emphasizes the importance of imagination of children in early school.
They can use the abstract objects to create the story and tell to other.
Anthroposophy is the philosophy that uses the color theory from Goethe.
Thus, we can see Waldorf’s toy with colorful objects (most of them are rainbow color).
Fabric in the toy is inspired from Eurhythmy dance, due to its movements and how performers perform in the stage (fabric touching the light while they are moving).
Moreover, the philosophy and pedagogy are concentrates in directly experiencing.
The playhouse is the choice that I made to do in this phase.
After I collected all references and ideas, I ended up with these three words ‘movements,
color and light’ for making the playhouse – Imaginature.
t is
the playhouse that using organic form. It connected together with the large
pole.
The three plates can be removed, rotate or flip around the pole.
The
smallest plate is the solid plate which is used as the main stage.
The middle
plate can project the color light.
The largest plate is the storage that collects all of the
elements
which can use to perform and play it.
Clips demonstrate functions
Study Model
The first experiment is using transparent films with five
colors (red, yellow, blue, green and violet), feather and motor to explore how
the light effect the movements and reflection.
The second experiment is inspired from the automata
playhouse.
It has two major mechanisms on the roof and the first level of the
toy.
The topper part is the lighting zone. It can rotate the gear to change
colors
when put a light above. It will make all of the stage area touched by
colors.
The lowest part is hiding the gears which will generate the movement on
the stage.
Constructing the Invisible Void is a set of 3 legs module wooden shape that easily form into a cube. Each set contains 4 big module and 4 small modules inside. The purpose of the toy is to let imagination creates the void within the shape. One module is not a complete void yet unless it is connected with one another. The toy encourages balancing block skill and problem solving, which can be play both individual or team
How to play step by step
Step 1: Take any pieces and try to connect to create a void. Only one piece of module is not a void yet.
Step 2: By adding and connecting more modules, more voids are created
Step 3: The void shape can be change according to the way of the construction
Step 4: When constructing many levels, a vertical void can be formed
Step5: At the end there will be many connected void inside
Different permutation can be created, which depends on how the player construct
Here are some model sample if the toy and how it's played
